Opera Children's Chorus



July 5-26, 2015

A three-week, tuition free program for children and young adults (Ages 7-17) the opportunity to prepare and perform in concert and operatic works. Students are immersed in the rigorous and rewarding life of an opera children’s chorus, singing alongside professional opera singers in main stage performances and developing critical musical and personal skills they can use their entire lives.

Program

 
Lower Division: Ages 8-12
·   Participation in fully staged youth opera or musical
·   Paticipation in OCC Concert
·   Opera Chorus in Festival opera, Don Pasquale
·   Acting and staging lessons
·   Vocal coaching with Stephen Sulich (Concordia College) and Allison Armerding
 
Upper Division: Ages 13-18
·   Participation in fully staged youth opera or musical
·   Paticipation in OCC Concert
·   Masterclasses and training sessions with OCC and Opera In Paradise staff including David Stern (Israel Opera),       Stephen Sulich (Concordia College) and Allison Armerding
·   Opera Chorus in Festival opera, Don Pasquale
·   Acting and staging lessons
·   Vocal coaching with Stephen Sulich (Concordia College) and Allison Armerding

Application Deadline: March 1, 2015 
Upon acceptance into this program, each participant will receive casting and part assignments for the season repertoire. Participants are required to be prepared in advance of the program.
